Time Equipment Company has successfully installed a state-of-the-art parking system at Goat Hill Garage, located at 415 Sixth Avenue, Seattle, WA.  This 730-stall parking structure, nestled in the historic First Hill area, often referred to as ‘Goat Hill,’ serves as a critical parking facility for King County operations.

The Goat Hill area has a rich history dating back to Seattle’s early settlers, who named the ridge for its distinctive topography.  Rising approximately 366 feet, it was the first significant incline encountered when journeying from the waterfront toward what is now Lake Washington.  Today, the area’s blend of history and modern infrastructure makes it a vibrant part of Seattle.

Time Equipment Company was selected for this project based on its proven track record in delivering cutting-edge parking solutions across the Pacific Northwest.  The installation at Goat Hill Garage includes 2 TIBA MP-60 series entry terminals and 2 SW-60 exit stations.  Access card reader terminals are installed at entrances and exits for better customer service and easy access for King County employees.  For convenience, a CPS-60 Credit Card Pay Station is installed near the 5th Avenue corridor, offering an easy payment option before exiting the garage.  In addition, Time Equipment installed new LED-lighted Magnetic articulating gate arms on the parking gates to illuminate gate movement and improve safety at the Jefferson Alley and Sixth Avenue entry and exits.

A new feature is the addition of License Plate Recognition (LPR) cameras to speed up the garage’s flow process and maximize parking revenues.  LPR captures the license plate and uses it as a credential in the PARC’s system for monthly patrons and county vehicles stationed at the garage.  When patrons pay at the pay station, no interaction is required at the exit, as the system knows it has already collected any parking fee due.

King County employees who are not monthly parkers can receive a daily discounted rate upon entry by using their access card to change the rate internally on the daily maximum charge.  Web-based validation is also included to allow the various county offices to validate parking charges online, further increasing the garage’s efficiency.

Time Equipment Company utilized the TIBA SPARK Suite Software Platform.  This cloud-based web environment allows parking operators and owners to control, manage, and monitor all their facilities from a central location.  SPARK leverages the successes of SmartPark and streamlines and expands the user experience.  It is accessible from any Internet-ready device and can be accessed virtually anywhere in the world.
