Located at 600 5th Ave S, in the heart of Seattle’s Chinatown-International District, Uwajimaya Village is a mixed-use facility with over 60,000 square feet of retail space on the street and 176 residential units, including studio, one, and two-bedroom apartments. The Chinatown-International District (the C-ID) is one of Seattle’s oldest neighborhoods, and it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Uwajimaya Village includes 400 shared retail parking stalls and monthly rental spaces. The parking operation had over 260,000 validations per year.
Uwajimaya Village’s anchor tenant, Uwajimaya, is one of the largest Asian grocery retailers in the Pacific Northwest. Their flagship location and corporate headquarters moved to this location in 1970. Since 1928, Uwajimaya has evolved beyond providing basic grocery staples and has become the destination to experience Asian food culture. In 1998, Uwajimaya, with Lorig Associates, started developing Uwajimaya Village, which would take up three city blocks.
Time Equipment Company installed two new TIBA MP-60 entry and three SW-60 exit terminals for two separate street access points. In addition, five Magnetic Gates finished the installation.
In addition, this site uses the TIBA SPARK web validation. Uwajimaya store clerks and other vendors validate parking tickets online through an iPad.
